At Cervantes E.I. we believe that learning a language is not only about grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. A language is also the means of expression of a certain culture and society and all their values and customs.
Therefore, as part of our special 2011 events, we will offer a series of different Cultural Workshops in the afternoon throughout the year (except in July and August). These workshops will focus on different prominent figures of the Spanish and Latin American culture, and on issues related to history and the arts.
Each workshop will consist of 4 sessions in one week (45 minutes per session) and their titles are:
- Short stories workshop: Stories that makes us think
- 1939-1975, 36 years under the rule of Franco
- Holding hands with Neruda
- Avant Garde and innovation: The Generation of ‘27
- Life, Death and Passion: Federico García Lorca
- Art and Provocation: Almodovar
- Decadence, tradition and Spanish feeling: The Generation of ‘98
- Under Picasso’s Paintbrush
Students will have the opportunity to book and join these workshops once they arrive at our school (minimum level required is B1), they can find more information on:
What better way to celebrate our 25th Anniversary than by promoting the knowledge of the Spanish Language and the Culture associated with it!
Best wishes for all,
Cervantes Escuela Internacional
